Yes, the PCA has given us a new name! Instead of WIC (Women in the Church), we will now be known as CPC Women’s Ministry. Our purpose and goals will remain the same. The following statement is taken from their website (www.pcacdm.org/women/).
“Women’s Ministry is important for every church to encourage and equip women for service to the church and for woman to woman discipleship. Women’s Ministries in the Church, a ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America and under the authority of Committee on Discipleship Ministries (CDM), seeks to equip, connect, and encourage women in the church to know Christ personally and be committed to extending His kingdom in her life, home, church, community, and throughout the world. We seek to glorify God and serve his kingdom by teaching sound doctrine that trains and disciples women to know and apply God’s Word to all of life. “
We are very thankful and excited to offer two different opportunities for Bible Study again this year. Our desire is that many women of all ages will come and join in studying the Word of God, fellowship, and prayer. These are sweet times of being together as women to build one another up in our walk of faith.
The schedule will be:
• Wednesdays, the evenings of Growth In Grace (GIG), 6:30-7:30 PM in the Library. Gretchen Deutschmann will be using the book by Nancy Leigh DeMoss about personal revival. “Welcome to Seeking Him, an interactive study designed to lead you into a revived relationship with our loving heavenly Father. God wants to reveal Himself to you; He wants to fill your heart with Himself; He wants to set you free from every unholy passion; He wants you to drink deeply of the joys found in His presence; He wants your service for Him to be the overflow of genuine love and an authentic life; He wants you to be a reflector of His glory in our dark world. He wants you-and His entire church-to be revived!”
• Thursdays, on the opposite weeks that GIG meets, at 9:30-11:00 AM in the Library and also in the evening. Jan Buist will be teaching about prayer using the book written by Susan J. Heck. “With the Master On Our Knees” is an exciting in-depth study which promises to equip Christians for a deeper and more meaningful life of prayer. It will challenge you to pursue more meaningful prayer with the Master, and show by example how the Old and New Testament saints prayed. This expository Bible study includes homework questions at the end of each chapter for further learning. It is for individuals who desire a more intimate prayer life. It is the author’s hope that when you have finished this book, you will be delighted to start and reluctant to end your praying.”
Please prayerfully consider joining us as we grow in our knowledge, commitment, and service to the Lord Jesus Christ!
